Dr Marc Pellegrini

Marc Pellegrini is an infectious diseases physician and Joint Division head of the Infection and Immunity Division at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute. His research is focused on understanding host-pathogen interactions. The aim of his work is to manipulate host cell signalling pathways to preferentially promote clearance of infected cells and thereby eradicate chronic infections. His work spans the broad areas of basic, translational, pre-clinical, clinical and ‘in the field’ research. His goal is to develop novel therapeutics and interventions that mitigate morbidity and mortality associated with chronic human infections including HIV, hepatitis B virus, and tuberculosis.
